About

The band was started by trumpeters Jack Bush and Bob
Lenneville in the summer of 1994. Originally known as the “St
Andy’s Big Band,” in 1998, the band grew to become a full-
fledged big band orchestra, comprised of 5 Saxophones, 4
Trumpets, 5 Trombones, and a 5 piece rhythm section as well as
vocalists, a master of ceremonies and a musical director.

Today, the “Mighty Lamplighters” faithfully re-create music
from bygone eras to the present, and are known for their highly
entertaining, high-energy performances. There is no “typical”
Lamplighters performance because every show is customized for
each audience and venue. Their vast and varied musical library
spans everything from dance music of the ‘30s to the Glenn
Miller WWII era, the fabulous 50s, the Rat Pack, the swinging 60s
& 70s, jazz, Bossa Nova, hits from the Broadway stage and your
favorite movies, Latin dance greats, right up to the present.

The Lamplighters are sure to bring their irrepressible mix of
music, humor, energy and joy to any venue, party, celebration,
fund-raiser, wedding, etc., indoors or out, large audiences
or small. We have performed at The Alamodome, McNay Art
Institute, Texas Folklife Festival, Blue Star Arts Complex, San
Antonio Fiesta, Southwest Crafts Center, San Antonio Country
Club, Randolph A.F.B Officers’ Club, Doubletree Hotel, Beethoven
Halle, Rivercenter Mall, Elks Club, The Quarry Market & Mall,

Whether you come to dance, sing along, laugh or just listen,
The Lamplighters Big Band Orchestra makes every show an
unforgettable experience.
