Bill Holman-
Director (Saxophone/Clarinet Soloist)William S. Holman, everybody calls him Bill, grew up in San Antonio. He graduated from Churchhill High School. The "Jazz bug" bit him hard so he traveled all the way to Boston to study at the Berklee College of Music. There he earned a B.A. in Jazz Composition and a B.A. in Woodwind Performance. From there he attended the New England Conservatory of Music, in Boston, and earned his M.A. in Jazz Studies. He studied with such noteable musicians as Joseph Viola, "Emeritus of Saxophone", Goerge Garzone, George Russell, David Holland, and William Thomas McKinley. He served on the Berklee Faculty in 1991 and as a member of the Berklee Faculty Association, he received the distinction of "Outstanding Participation in the Berklee Concerts". Bill is currently a private instructor at Monfrey Music teaching Woodwinds, Music and Jazz Theory, Improvisation, and Jazz and Classical Styles. In addition to directing the Lamplighters, Bill performs with the following bands:
Bill played with the George Russell Living Time Orchestra for a National Public Radio Show. He played in the orchestra for two broadway productions, "A Chorus Line" and "Chicago". He played in the "Rockin' Blue Rhythm" and "Heart of Texas" shows at the San Antonio Fiesta Texas, Six Flags Theme Park. He has performed with the following stars:
